WELCOME

Shaareibina combines excellence in Jewish studies with a solid secular education that is accredited and compliant with the AISF (Association of Independent Schools), NCPSA (National Council for Private Schools Accreditation), and MSACESS (Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commissions of Elementary and Secondary Schools). In the area of Limudei Kodesh, Shaareibina is blessed with some of the best Jewish Educators in the field, and is fully committed to providing a strong and friendly Jewish atmosphere.

“Sha’arei Bina has adopted Common Core State Standards of Florida”

This year we have adopted the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), which provide a consistent, clear understanding of what students are expected to learn, so teachers and parents know what they need to do to help them. The standards are designed to be robust and relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills that our young people need for success in college and careers. With American students fully prepared for the future, our communities will be best positioned to compete successfully in the global economy. (www.corestandards.org)

The CCSS is not a curriculum; it is a set of objectives that raise awareness and connections. Lessons are framed in "essential questions and statements," which require students to respond by the end of the instructional period. The regular curriculum inspires the questions and develops the course in a broader spectrum. (Examples: How do the commentaries increase our understanding of the Torah? or Compare and contrast the differences between Prose and Poetry in expressing our emotions.)

We invite any further questions or comments you may have mmenahem@shaareibina.org or rabbica@aol.com
